Standardised ginseng extract G115®

Intensive research has been carried out during the last 30 years to study the quality, clinical effectiveness and safety of the standardised Ginseng extract G115®.

The standardised Ginseng extract G115® positively influences the body against fatigue, mainly as a consequence of an enhanced utilisation of the energy in brain and muscles. Several species and qualities of Ginseng exist. In Pharmaton® Vitality the standardised Panax ginseng, C.A. Meyer extract G115® is used. The manufacturing method of the standardised Ginseng extract G115® is proprietary of Pharmaton SA and grants that every batch of capsules of Pharmaton® Vitality Capsules has the same level of active principles. The pharmacological, clinical effects and the safety of the standardised Ginseng extract G115® can not be attributed to other Ginseng extracts or Ginseng products.

  • Ginseng G115® in Pharmaton® Vitality Capsules

Pharmaton is the only product range that combines the benefits of the standardised Ginseng G115® with other essential ingredients such as vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

  • Species of Ginseng

Ginseng is not all the same

Within the plant genus Panax there are several species, all of which have different properties and the most studied with pharmacological trials is the specie Panax Ginseng, contained in Pharmaton® Vitality Capsules.

Eleutherococcus senticosus (also called Siberian Ginseng) belongs to the same family (the Araliaceae) and shares some common traits with Panax Ginseng, the Asian Ginseng.

    Why standardisation is so important

Standardisation ensures that the extract always contains exactly the same amount of pharmacological active substances - a basic requirement for a constant effect of the finished product and for clinical studies.

The extraction method is a crucial factor for the composition of the extract. In extracts produced by different extraction methods different compounds may be present in varying concentrations. Therefore, the pharmacological activity of an extract mainly depends on the extraction method used.

When choosing a herbal supplement brand, remember that you are buying an extract, not a plant. A common misconception is that all products containing the same plant must be the same. Many variables can change according to growing conditions, harvesting and manufacturing differences. In order to control these variables, the extract contained in Pharmaton® Vitality is standardised according to a high quality process.

To avoid the problems of inconsistent extracts you can buy a brand such as Pharmaton® Vitality Capsules, which is manufactured using the standardised Ginseng extract G115®, prepared according to strict guidelines to ensure exact standardisation. You can be assured that the product you take is the same as the one tested in several clinical studies. Pharmaton® Vitality Capsules contains the most clinically tested Ginseng extract in the world and has proven safety and efficacy.

    The origins of Ginseng

Ginseng is a medicinal plant used in medical circles for more than 2,000 years. The origin of the word is Chinese: ‘Jen Shen’ means ‘The power of the earth in human shape’.

Panax Ginseng is a carefully cultivated natural plant root which, when combined with vitamins and minerals, helps to sustain energy levels and relieve Daily Fatigue. Pharmaton® Vitality Capsules contain a special extract of ginseng that is extracted via a unique process used only by Pharmaton. Pharmaton® Vitality Capsules are a clinically proven vitamin and mineral formulation to relieve Daily Fatigue.

What is Panax Ginseng G115® made from?

G115® is made from the fine rootlets of the plant Panax Ginseng. This delicate plant is cultivated in China and Korea by specialist farmers. It’s grown indoors from the best selected seeds. After 18 months the plant is re-planted outdoors then when it’s five years old it is harvested and dried. Samples of the roots are sent to Pharmaton in Switzerland and the rootlets are tested for a high content of active ingredients, the ginsenosides. If satisfactory, the crop is purchased and the extraction process starts.

The fine Panax Ginseng rootlets undergo Pharmaton´s unique, low-temperature, extraction process involving more than 20 stages. A precise balance of ginsenosides is created by blending batches so that the finished extract precisely matches a set pattern (standardisation). As a result, every Pharmaton® Vitality Capsule contains the same quantity of the same ginsenosides as every other capsule. The special extraction process has never been published, and is used exclusively by Pharmaton®, but it gives you just what you need to help reduce tiredness and Daily Fatigue.

Minerals

Minerals have different functions for the human body. Without these elements, the metabolism - the function that allows cells, among other things, to produce energy - simply would not work. Our food contains minerals that plants and animals assimilate from the soil. Pharmaton® Vitality contains some key minerals which can contribute to your overall healthy balance and well being.

  • Magnesium

Properties: It is present in nearly all cells of the human body and is needed to keep healthy bones and teeth; as well as for a proper functioning of the nervous system and for the regular muscles function, including the function of the heart muscle.

Trace elements

The human body does not need large amounts of those minerals called "trace elements". They are, however, extremely important for our organism and a correct supplementation may be needed to prevent deficiency. Pharmaton® Vitality contains the following trace elements:

  • Iron

Properties: red blood cells need iron to help transport oxygen throughout the body and it is also important for an adequate functioning of the nervous and immune system.

Sources: meat, eggs, nuts, cereals and seeds.
